Help! I don’t know what I want!
Someone asked me a great question recently:
'Would you say that not knowing what your desires are anymore are part of self sabotage and procrastination?'
Telling yourself that you don’t know what you want is a good way to avoid taking action. In my experience, often times that's not the real problem. When I talk to people, they seem to have a pretty clear picture of what it is that they want from their lives.
What blocks that knowing is overwhelm. It's the part that says 'I don’t know where to start or how to get there, so it’s safer not to know what I want.' It's all the times other people told you that you can't make a good living by doing what you love. It's the cumulative effect of the limiting beliefs that make you feel daunted at the prospect of getting to the finish line, so then you don't even bother starting, or even admitting to yourself that this is the path you want to pursue.
The net result: you collapse and shut down your senses. It's a classic trauma response.
The good news is this can be healed.

'Gulara and I worked on self sabotage, avoidance and feeling not good enough, which have been recurrent themes for me. She was able to identify it all as a Rejection wound and got to the root of it very quickly, giving me compassion for things I tell no one, but that she saw within me. The healing that happened was pretty miraculous for me. I highly recommend her. She is very gifted.'
