7 Reasons To Read My Book
1. My intention for writing this book has always been to inspire and empower other women. If I’ve been through this much sh*t and made it here, so can you. This book will give you an insight as to why I'm so passionate about healing from trauma.
2. Although the setting is unique, the story is universal. It’s about mother-daughter relationships, spanning three generations of women.
3. It’s set against the backdrop of the Soviet Union’s collapse, but it’s not a history book. It’s a day-to-day life in a small part of the Soviet Union during big societal changes.
4. This book has never been more topical in light of what’s going on in Ukraine. Here’s what one of my friends said when Russia started waging a war on Ukraine: ‘Gulara, having been so privileged as to read your book I was struck by how this might be stirring up memories and fears throughout those communities previously involved with the Soviets. I can not really know what that feels like, but I think it makes your book even more important for people to read.’
5. If you like travelling to new and unknown places, then this book is for you – it’s a window into the time and world that remains largely unknown in the West.
6. Azerbaijani culture is big on food, so if you like sensual detail then you’re in for a treat. A friend said I could make a cookbook based on those descriptions. By the way, I just got back from Azerbaijan where I got into a habit of photographing food (when I remembered – sadly, most days I thought of a photo after I finished eating). So, if you follow me on socials, I’m going to share food photos for at least a week, if not longer.
7. This book is a story of hope and triumph against all odds. Plus it’s on sale until 24 May. If you need a dose of inspiration, you can buy it today for £1.99. https://bit.ly/HammerSickleBroom

P.S. One of the gifts of publishing a book is learning that good enough is good enough. I've got a lot to say on the subject, so if you haven’t signed up to my ‘Good Enough’ 5-day challenge, now's the time. I’ll be running daily sessions at 14:30-15:00 UK time on 9-13 June. https://www.gularavincent.co.uk/enough
P.P.S. Would you do me a favour and share these details with your friends? I'd be immensely grateful for your support!
