How Can I Forget My Past?

I was asked recently:

‘How can I forget my past, so that it doesn’t harm my health and damage my career opportunities?’

I can answer this question from my personal experience and what I see from working with clients.

For a very long time, I was an ‘expert’ on forgetting my past. I had a pretty traumatic upbringing which then attracted more traumatic situations into my life. There was nothing I wanted more than to forget it all, to move on and have a happily ever after.

I even moved to another country so that I didn’t have constant reminders of my past.

Except I brought all that pain with me to England.

It didn’t go away.

I pushed through that pain for years, but there comes a point where it becomes unsustainable.

In my experience, forgetting the past does not work.

Just think about it. What you’re trying to do is to push away parts of yourself which are hurting. The more painful your past experiences, the louder those parts become in order to get your attention. The longer you ignore them, the noisier they get.

What’s more, those painful experiences don’t just live in your mind; they are also lodged into the cells of your body. Even if your mind manages to blank out those experiences, your body keeps the score, and sooner or later, it’ll drag the past out through some illness.

When you push those wounded parts away, you feel tired, split and fragmented, because some parts of you are allowed and others are not welcome. You then feel conflicted and torn, and drain energy every time you need to make a decision.

This inner split can erode your sense of self, because it’s hard to feel whole and integrated, while you’re suppressing parts of yourself.

It’s very hard to accomplish anything from this place, because it affects your productivity, creativity and health. It’s hard to feel authentic and connected with others, when you had to disconnect from yourself.

Now, it’s not your fault.

At some point, this suppression might have saved your life. You needed to do it in order to survive. It’s an amazing capacity that human psyche has.

But now that you’re resourced enough, it’s time to put your past to rest by acknowledging your pain.

Now, I get it. It’s tough to go there. It’s too painful and it’s hard to do it on your own. Where do you even start, right?

This is where having a trusted guide can help.

I’m running a 3-hour masterclass ‘Who Am I?’ on 6 September. Join me for a live exploration to bring those forgotten parts home to yourself, so that you can feel whole again. It’ll affect every area of your life: relationship(s), health and career. I hope that you say ‘yes’ to yourself.

P.S. Here’s some feedback from my recent clients:

OH MY GOODNESS! She’s a gem! I’m a healer myself and I was mind (and heart-) blown by my session with Gulara! First, she was SPOT ON with every sentence she guided me through. Second, I’ve been working on the exact same traumas for 8 years and yet Gulara was able to take it even deeper and connect all my life’s “issues” and address them in one single session! I felt like everything was coming back together… that I was coming back to myself, which is the most precious experience. If your eyes glanced at her name even more than 1 second, don’t doubt, book her. You canNOT be disappointed!

It was wonderful to have worked with Gulara. I felt safe to express more on how and what I was processing during the session with vulnerability, with some tears of release and felt so much lighter and relieved with more love for myself. I just felt safe being my true self without feeling judged and this allowed me to open up with the intend to heal all the childhood wounds of feeling unloved, bring back any soul fragments, and self-loathing etc so that I embody my true self and reclaim my Goddess self with feeling soul aligned in my life and purpose with more wholeness, feminine energy, grace and joy.

Wow, wow, wow!! What a journey that was…to heal an enormous amount of toxicity from my family, going all the way back to my 5 year old little girl. This was by far the most intense amount of stagnant energy release and shifts I’ve ever experienced in the 8 years of doing the work!! I feel light like a feather floating on a cloud.
Absolutely, highly recommend working with Gulara. Thank you, thank you, thank you 🙏💚
